Life's a Beach - Little Catch Up

You may have noticed I've not been around much recently. Sorry about that, sometimes life just has to come first. I've had a lot going on in my work and personal life and its taken me a bit of time to adjust but I'm getting there. Life's not always as pretty as this carousel.

I don't need an excuse, but I wanted to catch you all up a little, even on my kitchen cupboard coming flying off the wall for no reason - like I said, life!

In my personal life I've been trying to re-find myself without the crutches (not literal, though my walking stick is still pretty handy), I've taken some steps professionally that were really scary for me and there's a growing distance between me and one of my best friends; that has been hard to accept. But it has taught me that the person I need to rely on is me, and I've been doing a pretty good job of that lately;

I put myself forward for an extra job that would mean a bit of a lifestyle change, and I got it - so now I'm looking forward to training and learning from those who came before me and who I stand with. It took me a lot to get here, and I'm pretty proud - but I do like to keep my work life separate to my blog so you won't hear much about it all here.

I built some new friendships, and strengthened some older ones - my friends live all across the country so it can be hard to make a bond but the bridges we build don't break easily.

I've also been working on my house and garden and my general mindset.
Having a garden I can finally use and enjoy has been so enriching for me mentally, being able to step outside without having to leave to actually go somewhere is lovely. I have lots of little pots, some hanging baskets and a few garden ornaments that bring me a little joy to see each day. I don't always find it easy to get out, or have the energy so having a back garden is great - I didn't realise how much of a difference it would make when I moved here.
I grew this, in my little garden and I'm quite proud.
I've been building furniture, making my shelves a little more me and putting a bit of sparkle here and there. My home isn't one of those Instagram worthy places but it is just that - home.

Lately I went to a pizza making class, drank some cocktails, worked a ton, changed my hair (again), went to Belfast and didn't see much of it (but it was nice, what I did see - ahem, Granny Annie's), saw the opening of a new restaurant, and just generally did me for a while.

Mentally I've been getting over some things that stung me, and it took me a minute to remember who I am and what I stand for. But I'm back, and I'm stronger.
So that's where I'm at, I've just returned from a conference, then a holiday in Dorset and I'm back on my travels for some training and important meetings again very soon so I'll keep you up to date more on my Instagram stories and grid - but just know I'm still around and I'm going to try and get back on track.

Lots of love friends.
