Christmas gift guide for the girl on a budget - gift exchange Brum Blogmas #13

A little display in my workplace, perfect for today!

At Christmas time my favourite thing to do is hunt down gifts, I find it so easy to get female gifts and cute quirky items on the high street that add that little nerdy or sweet edge to the stocking of friends and family. Here's a few things I'll be exchanging this Christmas:

This sleek Make Up set of "Matte Me Must Haves" made my eyes light up in store, the choice of colours from a pretty nude to sassy red and a perfect plum really gives the opportunity of day to night all in one place and I love that. The set itself is a reasonable price and well worth it for that lippy lover in your life -

It's definitely within budget at £6 for four lipsticks plus they come in the 3 for 2 deal!

These Beauty and the Beast lip balms are just adorable and the perfect gift for a Beauty and the Beast fan or a Disney fan in general. I adore Mrs Potts and Chip and the entire film and it makes me very happy that the live action movie has brought us all these new, beautiful creations.  I can't get over these little lip balms and think they're the perfect gift for young and older friends and family. I know I'd love to receive them and so would my Mom!

I bought these in Boots but it appears the stock is now gone online but you can get them from many retailers currently - Topshop are selling them at  £8 but Boots may still have some in store.

As you'll have gathered from my previous item I love Disney but what I love more is that we can get Disney items on the high street now at reasonable prices and the quality is still spot on. This Tinkerbell Purse is so sparkly and really embodies the character, the little star on the zip fastening is a nice little touch and it's definitely worth the money. This one is available at Primark on the high street right now along with many other Disney items but this in particular is well worth snapping up.

Primark - £4

This is becoming a theme this post isn't it? This superbly presented Beauty and the Beast Rose Perfume is an elegant little piece for any dressing table, personally I probably wouldn't use it but to have this little bottle on view would add a little smile to my face while getting ready for the day.  It's a fitting gift for a Disney lover and/or younger family to make them feel grown up. The price is reasonable for the quality and I quite want to keep it for myself.

This is currently down to £6.25 on the Marks and Spencer website (they also have some other really worthwhile Beauty and the Beast bits this Christmas.

This Hogwarts Clutch bag is probably my favourite thing I own right now and my best purchase this season, I'll admit I got this one for myself but I think it would make a very fitting gift for any Potter lover. It has a clip over fastening and an over the shoulder chain which can also be tucked into the bag to make this just a clutch. The price is brilliant for such a magical piece and it is perfect for party season when you want to add a little personality to an outfit. This would make a great gift or a quite fun little gift to yourself - this is the season of giving but don't forget the self love too!

This is a Primark bag, retailing at £12 and worth every penny so far.

For that makeup lover who is maybe just starting out experimenting with highlighter and blusher, the chocolate lover and even the regular at the NYX stand this little beauty is just wonderful. I bought this Peach and Glow blush and highlight chocolate bar recently on a makeup haul to try and test Revolutions sister brand I Heart Makeup and my views so far are definitely positive, the blusher is vibrant but easily blend-able, I prefer a more subtle look so tend to add less to my brush. The highlight is subtle but noticeable and a very pretty shade when mixed together. It would make a great gift, I love the chocolate bar theme that seems to be a dupe of a more high end brand and it does justice to its branding in its price range. I'm quite fond of this and am currently using it daily.

This is retailing at £6 in Superdrug.

On the same haul as the above I also picked up this Blushing Hearts blusher which is a colour that particularly suits my pale skin, it comes packaged in this splendid little box  and when opened is heart shaped, this is very much a dupe of a more high end brand and the quality is definitely higher than I expected, this charming blush is perfect as a stocking filler for the girly girl this Christmas and fits well within budget as well as being very fetching to look at.

Superdrug - £4.99 and currently on 3 for 2.

This Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is my current go to for mascara, it's brush is great for getting in the corners of your eyes and its a very buildable mascara, once I've added 3 layers of this baby I am good to go for the day and my eyes seem bigger - this is great for me as I have tiny eyes and I always want to emphasise them more. Above is the travel size version of this mascara in waterproof, for a well known brand the price is really reasonable and this little mascara is perfect for travel and carrying around each day, it also gives those you gift this to that little peek into the world of Too Faced which is a world I wish I could live in!

Available in Debenhams and online for £10

More purses and more Disney, I know, I know! These little purses have been the talk of the town recently and there are many people trying to collect them all and who can blame them? I currently have these three on Display in my living room, I would use them also but think they make such lovely pieces to keep on show too. These purses are all low prices for Disney items, the quality is good and you could easily collect them for a Disney fan in your family or friendship group, or just start them off with their first one and they can have the fun of hunting them down (FYI Birmingham have them in store right now)

These are Primark like the Tinkerbell purse and retail at £4.

Real Techniques are my go to for a perfect base and a well blended blusher but we all know that not everyone can afford these brushes within their budgets. Recently though they have changed the game and introduced these mini brushes with full sized heads that are great to chuck in your makeup bag and they take up little space. These function just as well as their full sized counterparts and would make the best stocking fillers, they have also been on 3 for 2 so are well worth stocking up on for yourself too.

These are being stocked in Boots for £6 each (they no longer seem to be online but are in store)
You can also obtain a set of mini brushes on Look Fantastic for £9.99

Last but not least, you will know if you read my recent Lush post that this is one of the best buys I've had this year (full review here), Sugar Plum Fairy smells heavenly and is a true saviour this season.  It makes a great gift for all those chapped lips, and why not pair it with a Body Shop lip balm (body shop review) and add a touch of cruelty free to your gifts this Christmas for a friend? That friend can enjoy licking this from their lips, like a sweet treat that snuffs those dead skins cells.

That's it from me on gift exchange for today, I hope you like my budget beauty and nerdy girl gifts, I know I want to keep a lot of them but I won't (not all of them anyway) I hope it also let you get to know me better too.

Merry 13th December!
